After her last successful capture, Giselle Sigebrand was anticipating the results of her next Pokemon hunt in the wild. This time, the new Pokemon from the capture in question was accompanying her, a Houndoom she had named Midnight.

As they trekked the trails of Route 112 which were fast becoming familiar to her (and her sore calves), they passed a particularly forested area. Perhaps there she would find her next Pokemon.

"Midnight, surveil the forest and report back." The Houndoom barked in confirmation and trotted off briskly to obey.

Her Houndoom turned the corner of the forest and was concealed by the vegetation. Zelle picked up her pace, wanting to catch up in case he got into any trouble.

Suddenly, she heard him bark, then let out a series of whines.

"Midnight!" She bolted forward to catch up with him. As he came into view, so did a fiery Combusken. Midnight had a trio of scratches across his nose, evidently the result of a Scratch with the bird Pokemon's sharp talons.

"Houndoom, use Thunder Fang!" Zelle commanded. Midnight growled, then proceeded to bite the Combusken on its wing, a flash of lightning jolting it as well.

Zelle threw a Pokeball to end the conflict as soon as possible.
